— the basics about me — I dwell in the South Santa Monica Bay area of Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA! I've lived in Florida, Germany, Virginia, Greece, Utah, and in Modesto, San Diego, San Jose, and Los Angeles in this most excellent state of California. Grew-up 18 years in San Diego, so it's still home for me. "Ich kann nur ein bisschen Deutsch sprechen" and "Milao Ellinika arketa kala."

I drive a Chevy Tahoe, prefer wearing shorts and sandals to a tie and slacks, enjoy the rugged and scenic outdoors, and some of my favorite flicks include Rudy, Remember the Titans, Latter Days, Star Wars, Pretty Woman, Harry Potter, Avatar and Lord of the Rings. My passions include drum & bugle corps, getting active outdoors, hitting the gym, eating mostly healthy foods, etc.

Who?

In 6th grade (circa 1978) I started playing the trumpet, and have since added the flugelhorn, french horn, and mellophone. And I've been singing baritone/bass ever since the 11th grade. Some of the groups I've performed with include the Mormon Youth Chorus, SDSU Wind Symphony, Velvet Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, and the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps.

My career has been in systems administration. It keeps me busy, and the day usually flies by! My specialties include Directory Services and SuSE Linux technologies. And I somehow managed to acquire (...after 8 years of college) a bachelors degree in Information Systems & Technologies from Weber State University.

When it comes to food, if it's dead and cooked I'll eat it! And, uh...sushi too I guess. (grin) Although I have a HUGE weakness for bakery desserts, I do manage to mostly avoid fried food, soda, chips, candy, and dairy (allergic - it sucks, I know). And I don't do alcohol, tobacco, coffee or drugs.

I recently took some fun online I.Q. and personality tests that stated my I.Q. was 131 (higher than I thought - lol). I purportedly am creative, intelligent, vivacious (yet shy), insightful, laid back, responsible, committed, analytical, have a rich inner life, and enjoy peaceful, comfortable environments. I also enjoy being told cool things about myself. (grin)

Family & Travel

My dad and stepmother live in the home where I grew-up in San Diego, California. Although he's theoretically only my stepfather, he's the father who raised me since I was five. He served in the army during the Vietnam War and his career has been in manufacturing engineering.

My little bro and his wife and son are in Jacksonville, Florida. He's made me an uncle three times over now! My mom also resides in Jacksonville, Florida, with my brother and his family.

I've been to most of the 50 states and major cities across the U.S. I've also visited Mexico and Canada, and lived in Germany and Greece. Places I still want to see include Australia for its Great Barrier Reef, Africa (tropical and savannah) for wildlife I've only seen in zoos, the Amazon for its tropical rainforest, China for my first cultural trip to Asia, and Croatia for some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world! And national parks I plan on visiting include Acadia, Denali, Great Smoky Mountains and Glacier!

A few of my adventures have included surfing along the San Diego coastline, hiking the back country of Zion National Park, whitewater rafting in Montana, kayaking in Alaska, parasailing in Florida, and ziplining in Hawaii. I'd still like to try sailing, windsurfing, hang gliding, and sky diving. Any takers?
